Go Dog Sledding

Firstly, I love dogs. they really are mans best friend.

I’m definitely a dog lover, I have one myself, and for me heading off in to the wilderness with him is a perfect break from the daily routine.

The thought of heading off for a few days in to a frozen tundra, just me and a pack of husky’s for company is one that really excites me.

However I just love the idea of coasting along on ice and snow on a sled being pulled by a pack of these incredible dogs.

Don’t get me wrong, I know this suggestion won’t be for everybody!

But dog sledding is a real adventure and one that is ever increasing in popularity.

There are some fantastic places to visit and if you choose some of the locations available in the far North of Sweden, Finland and Norway there is a good chance you will get to see the Northern Lights, another item on my Bucket List.

This can be a relatively inexpensive experience as well, which is always great to hear.

Prices can start at £160 for a day trip and £1,800 for a 7 night adventure, although you will need to make sure you are prepared for some hostile conditions!

You are going to need some serious cold weather gear for starters. Thermals and down jackets are an absolute must have.

In some instances you will also need to provide your own camping equipment but your tour provider will provide you with a full kit list of required equipment.
