A visit to the Grand Canyon in Arizona, is a once in a lifetime experience. One of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and is now a World Heritage Site.
Standing for over 550 million years, it is a one of the biggest examples of erosion on the planet.
It offers spectacular views wherever you stand, looking down into the gorges at the Colorado River, or up at the mile high walls, it is just breath taking.
At the South Rim you have the Grand Canyon Village and Desert view, and if you look across ten miles away you will see the North Rim, standing an impressive 1,000 feet higher.
The Inner Rim offers you a great opportunity to go hiking, do river runs and go on mule rides. You can visit Lake Powell with the red rock towers and crystal clear blue waters.

For a unique experience, take a round-trip on the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams, Arizona to the Grand Canyon National Park – a journey of 65 miles. Nearby you can also visit the Hoover Dam, Iceburg Canyon, Lake Mead, Bowl of Fire and the Valley of Fire. Combine a stay in Las Vegas with a trip to the Grand Canyon. Why not experience a holiday in the Grand Canyon this year and see what you’re missing!
Things to see & do at the Grand Canyon
The Grand Cayon National Park is humongous, and there is so much to see and do, it’s an outdoorsman’s dream! Take a helicopter ride over the the American Indian Territory and surrounding desert landscapes or why not go white water or smooth water rafting along the Colorado River. Go out in a 4×4 to Death Valley, take a tour of the scenic Hermit Road or relax and enjoy a fishing trip on the Colorado River.
There really is so much to do in this natural wonder that I find it hard to believe anyone would get bored here.

Of course the Grand Canyon is in the desert, so make sure you pack the relevant clothing and walking boots, and definitely do not forget the sun cream!
