Whether you are a massive football fan or not, a chance to visit the Nou Camp in Barcelona is not to be missed. Home to the world famous FC Barcelona, this magnificent stadium can hold over 99,000 fans!
Being a famous and popular team, tickets to big matches are not always easy to come by, but pick a lesser known opponent and you’re bound to be able to pick up tickets for at least one of the 99,354 seats!! Just don’t forget to pack your favourite vintage FC Barcelona replica shirt for the match so that you fit in.
On match night be prepared for an exciting evening, no matter how the game turns out! Die hard fans and newbies alike will be singing the teams chant and the atmosphere is incredible.
The other thing you will notice is how friendly the locals are. The little old man who brings a flask of tea and sandwiches wrapped in foil, who has been coming to see the team since he was a boy. the young fan who has only discovered the team, or the girl who just wants to watch Lionel Messi run around for 90 minutes. The great mixture of people means you will never stand out in the crowd.
Off Season Stadium Tours
If you’re in Barcelona in the off-season, but still want to visit the Nou Camp then be sure to do a stadium tour.
The atmosphere is non existent in comparison to watching a game, but you will get to see the ground in all its glory. The sheer size of the stadium is amazing!
As you walk your way through the self guided tour there will be several different areas where you can stop, so there are plenty of photo opportunities. Grab a picture of the pitch, the seating, the benches (or dug out), the visitors changing rooms, the press room.
There is even a chapel, to give the players a last minute chance to pray!
The last stop of the tour is the museum where you can view previous trophies and other achievements the club have made over the years. There is a fantastic amount of historical information on display, so if you are a big fan you won’t want to miss it.
This is also where you can make your football dreams come true, and actually hold the Champions League Cup. The exhibitions at the museum are ever changing, so there is always something new to see.
Stop by the huge club shop before you leave where you can purchase every piece of merchandise imaginable!
